Krista Bethune Melnar, PE, CFM, PMP, has focused her career pursuing flood disaster resilience for FEMA and communities in Texas. During this time, she has gained expert knowledge of FEMA’s programs, policies and standards and has earned trusted relationships across FIMA, within Region VI and Headquarters. Krista is a proven leader, able to deliver innovative solutions on time and budget, while coordinating with a broad stakeholder group to achieve results. As Freese and Nichols’ Stormwater Practice Leader, Krista oversees all aspects of our diverse water resources planning and engineering services, including floodplain modeling and mapping. She has more than 20 years of experience addressing today’s water resources challenges in stream restoration, stormwater management and flood disaster resilience.
