Arkansas ACEC Spotlights Freese and Nichols’ Growth in the State

The Murray Lake Lock and Dam No. 7, part of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, was completed by Freese and Nichols for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1965.

Building Arkansas magazine featured Freese and Nichols in the July issue’s “member spotlight,” explaining how the firm’s long history in the state has led to the more recent development and growth of our Rogers-based team.

Freese and Nichols first served Arkansas in the 1940s, and in the 1960s designed the Lock and Dam Number 7 on the Arkansas River that formed Lake Murray. The Rogers office opened in 2022 and now has 13 employees plus summer interns, with plans to triple in size in the next three years.

Arkansas projects include the wastewater master plan for Rogers Water Utilities and final design of improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment plant.

Building Arkansas is published quarterly by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arkansas.
