Bregger Garrison Named to San Antonio Business Journal 40 Under 40

Bregger Garrison, Principal and Business Development Lead for Freese and Nichols’ Central Texas Division, has been named a recipient of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award. The award honors 40 young leaders annually in the San Antonio region who are succeeding in business and contributing to the community.

Providing strategic business development leadership for Freese and Nichols, Garrison has contributed to significant growth for the firm, multiplying Freese and Nichols’ project work with area clients. He provides a range of support for municipalities including technical training courses, scoping and estimating services for bond projects and connecting specialists from other practices within the firm to meet client needs. Early in his career, he worked closely with city leadership to help deliver the Market Street Realignment, San Antonio’s signature effort enabling the convention center expansion.

Garrison supports early-career engineers through his establishment of endowed scholarships at The University of Texas at San Antonio via Texas Public Works Association and Texas Society of Professional Engineers and has begun the process to expand the program to Trinity University. Additionally, for six years, he served on the committee for Engineers Week in San Antonio, a week-long event organized by the TSPE (Texas Society of Professional Engineers) Bexar Chapter that raises more than $100,000 annually for scholarships.

Garrison is an active member in professional leadership programs such as the NSPE (National Society of Professional Engineers) Emerging Leader Task Force in which he spent four years helping reshape the program amid its shift to a virtual class in 2021. He also participated in and later facilitated the SAME San Antonio Post Leadership Lab.

Currently, Garrison is a board member of the San Antonio Mobility Coalition, the TSPE Bexar Chapter and Temple Beth-El where he is Senior Vice President and has been a board member for more than ten years. He previously served as President of the TSPE Bexar Chapter, board leader for the APWA (American Public Works Association) Texas Chapter – South Central Branch and the NSPE national board of directors. Garrison is licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
