Devan Ruiz Named Young Engineer of the Year by TSPE Preston Trail Chapter

Congratulations to Devan Ruiz, who has been named 2026 Young Engineer of the Year by the Preston Trail Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE). Devan works in our Frisco office as a Project Manager for the Transmission and Utilities group, where her work focuses on water and wastewater facilities and infrastructure design.

The TSPE’s Young Engineer of the Year Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding technical ability, collegiate and professional achievements, civic and humanitarian involvement and a strong commitment to the engineering profession.

Devan has been an active member of the Preston Trail Chapter since 2022, serving as the Audit Chair. She has continued in this role while also serving as a Director and MATHCOUNTS Coordinator, participating in the TSPE Leadership Training Conference in 2025. In addition to her TSPE involvement, Devan served as Vice President of Membership for a local chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), volunteered as a capstone mentor for Texas Tech University civil engineering seniors and supports the North Texas Foodbank.

She’s also involved in Freese and Nichols’ Frisco Women Empowered Employee Resource Group (WE ERG) and the Project Management Steering Committee.

Devan was recognized as Young Engineer of the Year at the 2026 TSPE Engineers Week Award Luncheon on Wednesday, February 18.
