Freese and Nichols Rises in Design Firm Rankings
Freese and Nichols continues to place among the top design firms in the United States, as ranked by the industry magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR). These recognitions reflect the national expertise and regionally based service we provide to our clients and communities as we aim for excellence at all levels.

Top 500 Design Firms and Top 100 Pure Designers
Freese and Nichols ranked 97th overall with $309.5 million in design revenue. We rose in the rankings from 2024, when we were 100th with $266.5 million. Our firm ranked 83rd on ENR’s “pure designers” list, maintaining our spot from 2024 and marking our eighth consecutive year on this list.
Top 20 Design Firms by Sector
On the lists for market sectors, Freese and Nichols placed 17th among the nation’s design firms for water, improving from 18th in 2024. We also placed 17th in sewer and waste, which includes stormwater, up from 19th last year.
