Located adjacent to a new elementary school in northwest Frisco, Boulder Draw Park is designed to be an accessible and integrated neighborhood park. FNI is developing all park and recreational projects with accessibility issues in mind to verify that every person has an equal opportunity to enjoy the space.
FNI developed the concept for Boulder Draw based on an "urban" park within the surrounding residential developments. The park will respond to surrounding developments on all four sides with upgraded and sustainable construction materials and finishes. The park’s arching and connecting walkways allow for circulation from all sides with corner-to-corner pedestrian movement. The pedestrian experience is enhanced by a primary east-west connection, which is to be heavily landscaped with native and drought-tolerant planting for a unifying experience for the two primary neighborhoods on either side of the park. The area to the south of the main arching walkway is an active area primarily for athletic practice fields and is adjacent to the new elementary school. Design includes native landscaping and a water-conserving irrigation system, parking areas, picnic pavilion, playground, multi-use court, trails, open space practice fields, exercise stations, security lighting, site furnishings and park signage.
