  • Alternate Work Schedule

    Committed to your role, but looking to have every other Friday off? Talk with your supervisor to see if the Alternate Work Schedule is right for you.

  • Remote Work Program

    With the ability to work remotely for a portion of your schedule, gain the best in flexibility and culture of both at-home and in-office work experiences.

  • Tuition Reimbursement Program

    Reimbursement for college-level studies: all tuition, fees and required books up to $15,000.

  • Employee Assistance Program

    When you need some extra support for life's challenges, rely on Unum Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work/Life Balance. These services are confidential, and available at no additional cost to you, your spouse or domestic partner, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law.

  • Paid Parental Leave

    "Engaging as Family" is a core value of ours, which means you have FNI's support when your family grows. Access paid parental leave, up to four weeks for primary caregivers and two weeks for secondary caregivers of new children in your family by birth, adoption or foster care.

  • Personal Leave/Vacation Donation

    A way to help each other when the need arises, this policy is designed to allow employees with serious personal or family illness issues the ability to be paid after their personal leave and vacation balances have been depleted. Team members may choose to donate their own accumulated personal leave or vacation hours to support these employees.

  • Holiday Schedule and Paid Time Off

    Take time off during seven paid holidays annually, and earn more paid time off with each pay period for vacation and personal leave.

Financial Protection Programs

Choose from a range of offerings to fit your current needs and lifestyle.

  • Family and Medical Leave

    Under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), you may qualify for up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave in a 12-month period, and up to 26 weeks of military caregiver leave.

  • Retirement/Savings

    Freese and Nichols will match your 401(k) contribution biweekly: 100% on the first 1% of salary deduction, then 50% on the next 5% of salary deductions. Additionally, FNI offers yearly match based on profits and growth. Eligibility for our 401(k) plan begins on your first day of employment. You may contribute pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) income based on a percentage of salary. After two years of service, participants become 100% vested.

  • Life Insurance

    Life insurance products can help provide financial protection for families after the death of a loved one. Freese and Nichols offers basic life insurance to eligible employees, as well as voluntary options for you, your spouse, and dependent children.

  • Short-Term Medical Leave

    Should you need to miss work due to illness, pregnancy, or injury, you may still receive a percentage of your salary through this benefit, which is available immediately upon employment, and at no extra cost to you. Short-term medical leave benefits would begin 14 days after your first day of absence, and continue for up to 24 weeks of payment as long as you are considered disabled by the insurance carrier.

  • Long-Term Disability

    Pays a percentage of salary beginning six months after the first day of absence due to disability, as long as the employee is deemed disabled by the insurance carrier or until obtaining plan age maximum. Eligibility begins 31 days after employment. The firm pays the cost for this plan.

  • Accident Insurance

    When life takes an unexpected turn, accident insurance can pay you money for covered accidental injuries and their treatment. Enroll in this benefit for a little extra peace of mind.

  • Legal Shield/ID Shield

    LegalShield provides fully covered legal services from experienced attorneys and their attorneys have an average of 22 years’ experience. Participants are never turned away for covered legal matters. Attorneys are available at the touch of a button through the LegalShield app 24/7. IDShield monitors your personally identifiable information from all angles, alerting you to any suspicious activity related to your identity or credit. If your identity is stolen, IDShield provides full-service restoration and will restore your identity to its pre-theft status.

  • Team FN Bonus

    When Freese and Nichols does well, so do you! Eligible team members can look forward to a bonus reflecting overall company success distributed annually as our way to say "thank you" for your work.

Health & Wellness Programs

Your health is related to a lot of things, and having the right insurance for your individual needs is just one of them. Explore our insurance offerings and other wellness support programs below.

  • Medical Insurance

    We offer medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield, which provides coverage through its national Blue Choice PPO network of doctors and hospitals. You'll have the flexibility to choose the plan that works best for you and your family: a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account, or one of two Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans with a Health Reimbursement Account.

  • Critical Illness Insurance

    This coverage provided by Unum can protect you, your spouse, and dependent children by providing you a lump sum payment if you are diagnosed with a critical illness.

  • Prescription Drug Coverage

    Prescription drug coverage is included in any medical insurance plan you enroll in. Ask about the Home Delivery option for a 90-day supply of maintenance prescriptions.

  • Dental Insurance

    Our comprehensive dental plan is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield and includes a nationwide network of dentists and specialists.

  • Vision Insurance

    Through our comprehensive vision plan with Blue Cross Blue Shield, access a large specialty network of optometrists, ophthalmologists, and nationally recognized eye care retailers. Save 20% or more on additional frames and/or lenses with a valid prescription.

  • Healthcare Advisor

    You'll have free access to Alight’s Healthcare Advisor service to guide you through the complex world of healthcare. Health Pro consultants help locate and select healthcare providers; comparison-shop for medications, services or procedures; review your bills; and resolve disputes if you’ve been overcharged.

Healthy Rewards

Enroll in any one of our medical plans, and you have access to discounts on health products and programs you use every day, including things like gym memberships, vision and hearing care, mind/body programs and alternative medicine.

LiveWell Program

FNI prioritizes the health of our employees providing corporate memberships at YMCA (select locations), healthy snacks in our breakrooms, fun fitness activities and the option for an annual reimbursement for activities or purchases that help you focus on your everyday health.

Additional Health Benefits

Flexible Spending Account

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars from your paycheck to pay for out-of-pocket healthcare and dependent care expenses. It can reduce your income tax (Federal, State, and FICA), and could help you save up to 30% in pre-tax savings.

Health Savings Account

Enroll in our HDHP and you may open a Health Savings Account (HSA) through WEX to set aside pre-tax dollars for your healthcare needs and provide you a triple tax advantage. Freese and Nichols contributes funds to your HSA on a quarterly basis.

Health Reimbursement Account

If you enroll in a PPO medical plan, Freese and Nichols will use the HRA to reimburse most of one medical deductible for one person in your family each year.
