Shrikissoon and Claudio Recognized for Industry Leadership in Florida

Adriell Shrikissoon, Project Manager for Transmission and Utilities in our Tampa office, and Nick Claudio, Team Manager for Instrumentation and Controls in Orlando, have been honored for their leadership and contributions to the water industry. Their volunteer efforts demonstrate how leadership roles in professional organizations advance the industry and strengthen personal and professional growth. Their achievements reflect Freese and Nichols’ commitment to empowering employees to lead, innovate and make a lasting impact.

Adriell received the Ralph Baker Award from the Florida Water and Environmental Association (FWEA). This honor recognizes his leadership in growing the West Coast chapter into the largest in the state. Adriell’s journey from secretary to chair over four years reflects his commitment to building a strong network and creating engaging opportunities for members. Under his guidance, the group’s sponsorships increased to 42 from 17, and the chapter encouraged member involvement through interactive events such as plant tours and rock climbing.

“You’re not paying people to be in the organization, so it’s important to motivate them to do things out of pure passion for what they’re trying to accomplish,” Adriell said. “That’s an interesting aspect I’ve learned being the chair and president of the West Coast chapter for FWEA.”

Nick was awarded the Technical and Education Councils Excellence Award by the Florida chapter of the American Water Works Association for his outstanding leadership as Automation Committee Chair. From 2022 to 2025, Nick led initiatives that increased engagement and participation, including themed webinars and networking events. His last year as chair focused on AI in the water industry, resulting in the committee’s highest-ever workshop attendance and highest webinar attendance since 2021.

“Serving the organization is a great way to give back to the water industry and stay connected to what matters most,” Nick said. ”It helps me meet people who solve the same problems we face every day.”
