$32 Million in Funding Available for Desalination and Reclamation/Reuse Projects

The Bureau of Reclamation has announced $32 million in funding opportunities for desalination construction projects and water reclamation and reuse projects under the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN Act). Applications are due by June 28. For more information regarding this or other water funding opportunities, contact me at mark.evans@freese.com.

Desalination Projects 

This opportunity is for sponsors of ocean and brackish water desalination to request cost-shared funding for the planning, design and/or construction. The  recipient must provide at least 75 percent of the total project costs. Sponsors must have completed a feasibility study and submitted it to Reclamation for review.

Reclamation and Reuse Projects under WIIN  

Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Projects under the WIIN Act is for sponsors of projects eligible under section 4009(c) of the Act to request cost-shared funding for the planning, design, and/or construction of those projects. To be eligible, sponsors must have completed a Title XVI Feasibility Study that Reclamation has reviewed and found to meet all of the requirements of Reclamation Manual Release WTR 11-01. The recipient must provide at least 75 percent of the total project cost. These funding opportunities are available by searching Grants.gov for Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) BOR-DO-19-F008 and NOFO BOR-DO-19-F018.
