Allison Blake, PE, Wins Emerging Leader of the Year Award

Congratulations to Allison Blake, PE, on winning the Emerging Leader of the Year Award through Empowering Women in Industry.

Allison, pictured on the far right, was honored during the Empowering Women in Industry awards gala on Thursday in Chicago. Eileen O’Neill, center, the executive director of the Water Environment Federation, an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va., presented Allison with the award.

Allison has been with Freese and Nichols since 2012. She received her Master of Science in Environmental Engineering in 2013 from Southern Methodist University, where she earlier had completed her bachelor’s degree. She’s worked on water and wastewater treatment plant design and studies, treatment plant construction phase services and treatment plant asset management.

She is actively involved in her industry organization, the Water Environment Association of Texas, and has chaired the WEAT Student Design Competition since 2013. She is now the WEAT Student Chapter Representative, serving as liaison for active student chapters and assisting in developing new student chapters in Texas. Allison enjoys being part of WEAT to help the growth of students and young professionals in the engineering industry.
