Allison Blake Receives WEAT Emerging Leader Award

Congratulations to Allison Blake, Treatment, Dallas, on receiving the 2020 WEAT Emerging Leader Award.

This award is presented to a young member of WEAT who has provided outstanding service in support of the Association in the form of committee involvement, recruiting, volunteer time, event participation and other contributions.

Allison joined the organization back in 2013 when she participated in the State Champion WEAT Student Design Team and National Runner-Up as an SMU student. She continued her involvement as Student Design Co-Chair and Chair from 2014-2018, where she continued recruitment from across Texas and Louisiana, mentoring multiple champion SMU teams and guiding the rapid growth of the team.

As the Chair of the Student Chapter Committee in 2018, she continued to champion growth by forging new chapters, expanded the design competition and re-established student chapters of 15 universities programs.

In nominating Allison for the award, her supervisors and colleagues have commented on her enthusiasm and commitment to the water environment and sets a high standard for service to WEAT.

A colleague states “Simply put – we would not have a WEAT Student Chapter at LeTourneau University without Allison. I am grateful for all of her hard work and cannot thank her enough. Allison is making an impact and I believe she will for years to come.”
