Civil Engineering Magazine Features Emergency Riverbank Project in Fort Worth
Robb Otey and Nick Lester, both Transmission and Utilities engineers in Fort Worth, wrote about the award-winning Twin 90-Inch Sewer Pipe Emergency Bank Stabilization project for the May/June issue of Civil Engineering magazine, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
“Environmental wastewater crisis averted at Trinity River” tells the story of how Freese and Nichols’ multidisciplinary team helped Fort Worth Water design and implement emergency repairs for an eroding riverbank in a sensitive area. Using their geomorphology expertise, our team developed an ecologically friendly solution in a confined area when the location couldn’t accommodate a traditional approach. They also responded quickly to unexpected challenges during construction.
