Cultivating Community Roots in Atlanta
With shovels in hand, our Atlanta staffers are cultivating roots, by building client relationships — and literally by planting trees.
On Nov. 10, members of the Atlanta office helped plant 78 total trees in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood. Partnering with Trees Atlanta, the Freese and Nichols team planted 12 trees.
Atlanta, known as the “City in a Forest,” has tree coverage of 36 percent, as compared to average cities’ 27 percent.
“Trees help cool down the city and make air cleaner; they also provide habitat for animals,” said Yagesh Panta, who serves as the Atlanta office’s leader for community involvement and volunteered with Trees Atlanta a few years back.
