David Jackson Receives WEF Bedell Award for Service

Congratulations to David Jackson, Water/Wastewater Treatment Practice Leader, for receiving the Water Environment Federation’s Arthur Sidney Bedell Award recognizing extraordinary personal service to the organization and its member groups.

David is a Freese and Nichols Principal/Vice President and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer. He has been involved in project management and design of hundreds of treatment facilities during his career, specializing in water resource recovery and water purification facility master planning, design and construction services.

Over the course of two decades, David has helped advance and promote the water industry in multiple leadership roles for WEF, its state affiliate the Water Environment Association of Texas, and the American Water Works Association. He is a Past President of WEAT and a current member of the WEF House of Delegates.

He has dedicated thousands of volunteer hours to WEAT and WEF and their mission of connecting water professionals in the interest of protecting public health and the environment.

As one industry colleague wrote in a nomination letter, “David serves our industry as an ambassador with unwavering passion. He has committed his career to the advancement of water and wastewater treatment by promoting education programs, serving on boards and advisory committees and serving WEAT and WEF.”

Another wrote, “David’s giving spirit and dedication to our field is legendary, and he has worked tirelessly to support WEAT as well as the men and women who are intertwined within our great industry.”
