ENR Ranks Freese and Nichols in the Nation’s Top 20 for Six Sectors
Freese and Nichols is among the nation’s top design firms in six market sectors, as compiled by Engineering News-Record (ENR). The rankings are based on 2021 design revenue:
- 11th in dams and reservoirs (down from 10th one year ago)
- 11th in sanitary and storm sewers (up from 12th one year ago)
- 13th in water transmission lines and aqueducts (down from 12th one year ago)
- 18th in water supply (down from 16th one year ago)
- 18th in wastewater treatment plants (down from 17th one year ago)
- 18th in sewer and waste (up from 21st one year ago)

In other ENR rankings:
Freese and Nichols is 78th among the nation’s Top 200 Environmental Firms, with $176.1 million in 2021 revenue from environmental services. Broken down by market, the sources of that revenue were 54% water supply and treatment; 41% wastewater treatment; and 5% environmental science. Last year we were ranked 75th.
Among the Top 100 Construction Management/PM-for-Fee Firms, we are 50th with $47.7 million total revenue; we ranked 50th last year as well. ENR ranked firms by 2021 revenue for project/program-management or construction-management services performed as a professional service for a fee.
