Freese and Nichols Adds Muna Mitchell to Broaden Expertise on Bridges

Freese and Nichols, Inc., has added Muna Mitchell, PE, as Bridge Team Lead Engineer, expanding our expertise in transportation and structural solutions.

Muna brings more than 25 years of experience that includes design of Texas Department of Transportation bridges across the state, including phased bridge replacement, long span steel bridges, and bridges over and supporting rail. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma, she has led project teams across the United States and abroad.

“We are excited to have Muna bring her broad expertise with bridge engineering to our clients so we can give them even better and more focused services,” said Freese and Nichols Associate Misty Thomison, Structural Group Operations Manager.

Muna has an MS in Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis from the University of Houston and three degrees from The University of Texas at Austin: an MA in Human Dimensions of Organizations, a BS in Civil Engineering and a BA in Plan II, an honors liberal arts program.

She said her liberal arts background “helps me be a better manager and team member. Studying the human dimensions of organizations helps you understand how you can make your team and organization stronger.”

Muna is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Structural Engineers Association of Texas, a member of the Board of Directors for The Trail Foundation and Professional Development Committee Chair for the Infrastructure Advancement Institute.
