Holly Ahumada Receives TSPE Van Trump Award

Congratulations to Holly Ahumada, who received the Van Trump Award by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE Fort Worth).

The Richard Van Trump Award recognizes an exemplary member for their service to the chapter during and to give honor to the late Richard Van Trump. The recipient of this award is selected by the chapter’s past president to recognize those whom he finds most helpful and deserving in service to the chapter during the past president’s year in office.

Holly, a stormwater project manager, has been involved with TSPE dating to 2014, when she served as the MathCounts Volunteer Coordinator. Her involvement increased by becoming the Webmaster (2016-17), MathCounts Coordinator (2017-18), abd MathCounts Teacher Coordinator (2018-19). This led her to receiving the TSPE Fort Worth Young Engineer of the Year award in 2018. She continued her involvement through the positions of VP of Public Relations (2019-20) and VP of Chapter Activities (2020-21).  Her impact on the organization is shown through her work on hosting speakers for monthly chapter meetings, including Mayor Betsy Price for the 2020 EWeek scholarship fundraising banquet.

Holly was recognized during the virtual chapter meeting on Feb. 25 with a potential in-person recognition to follow this summer.
