Lissa Gregg’s Volunteer Service Honored by Water For People
Congratulations to Lissa Gregg, PE, ENV SP, on receiving the Kenneth J. Miller Founders Award from Water for People for her volunteer service.
The Miller Award honors the service and leadership of champions for the organization’s mission of safe water and sanitation around the world. Water For People is a global nonprofit that helps people bring clean water and sanitation solutions to their communities.
Lissa has been instrumental in the success of the Water For People silent auction fundraisers at the last four Texas Water conferences, and co-chairs the Texas Water 2020 Silent Auction. She has helped raise a combined $90,000 over the years, gathering donated auction items and working numerous hours to set up and run the auctions. She’s also an organizer for the North Central Texas Section–American Water Works Association’s Casino Night, helping to raise about $25,000.
Lissa’s commitment to universal water access includes volunteering with an international nonprofit though which she lived in a community in Uganda to design facilities that are sustainable, affordable and transformational.
Water For People honored Lissa during a virtual awards ceremony on June 15. The 2020 Miller winners also will be recognized in person during ACE21, the AWWA’s Annual Conference & Exposition scheduled for July 2021 in San Diego.
Lissa joins other Freese and Nichols winners of the Miller Award that include Chris Belk, Raleigh, and Adam Conner, Austin.
