Matthew Giglio Receives TSPE Fort Worth Richard Van Trump Award

Congratulations to Matthew Giglio, stormwater project manager and engineer, who received the Van Trump Award by the Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE Fort Worth).

The Richard Van Trump Award was instituted in 1971 to recognize an exemplary member for his or her service to the chapter during the previous year and to honor of the late Richard Van Trump. The recipient of this award is selected by the chapter’s past president to recognize those whom he finds most helpful and deserving in service to the chapter during the past president’s year in office.

Looking for ways to continue his deep involvement in community organizations that began while studying at Texas A&M University, Matthew began his involvement in TSPE immediately after starting at Freese and Nichols. Matthew asked at one of his first meetings how he could be more active with the chapter and has since served as a volunteer at several community events, including as a MATHCOUNTS volunteer since 2018, and has held the following positions: Scholarship Committee Member, Director of Education in 2018-2019, Treasurer from 2019-2021, and currently serves as Vice President of Public Relations. He was awarded Young Engineer of the Year by the chapter in 2021.

Matthew was recognized at the TSPE Fort Worth Engineers Week Banquet on Feb. 25.
