Meet Our Bridge Services Team

 

Freese and Nichols brings together all the expertise needed to successfully plan, design and maintain your system’s bridges. Our team specializes in delivering innovative solutions to challenging projects by combining the skills of experienced bridge engineers, civil roadway designers, hydraulic specialists, landscape architects and illumination engineers to meet the unique set of requirements for each bridge.

We bring all the capabilities needed to provide full plans, specs and estimate packages for Federal, Departments of Transportation, county, municipal and private engineering projects for bridge design, replacement, and repair. Freese and Nichols provides a bridge-focused team with broad experience across many bridge types, environments, and loading requirements.

Bridge Services Team

Misty Thomison, P.E. – Misty is the Structures Group Manager for Freese and Nichols. She has a strong background in sustainable design including experience in various steel, reinforced concrete, composite steel/concrete and masonry structural designs. She has worked on projects in both the private and public sectors including several bridge inspections, analysis and rehabilitation projects.

 

 

Muna Mitchell, P.E. – Muna is the Bridge Team Lead Engineer. Her background is primarily for transportation bridge plans, specs and estimate projects. She worked on projects for the Texas Department of Transportation Houston District Bridge group after obtaining her Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a thesis on bridge live loading. Muna is the Engineer of Record for more than 30 bridges from highway bridges to pedestrian bridges across Texas for the state, counties, municipalities, non-profits and flood control districts.

 

Feridoon Malekghassemi, P.E. – Feridoon is an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with expertise in the structural design of bridges and transportation-related structures for various Departments of Transportation and design-build projects. His design proficiency includes both steel and concrete highway and light rail bridges, bridge substructures and foundations.

 

 

Will Workman, P.E. – Will is experienced in analysis, inspection, construction and project management of bridge projects. His bridge experience includes load rating analysis of steel girder bridges, structural modeling of vehicular and aviation bridges, BRINSAP inspection of steel and concrete bridges, as well as construction management and inspection of a variety of infrastructure projects including transportation and bridge construction projects.

 

Louis Turi – Louis has over 25 years of CAD experience in concrete and steel structures and is experienced in developing bridge plans, specs and estimates using the Texas Department of Transportation bridge detailing practices. He has worked on a variety of projects that include signature structures, interchanges, prestressed concrete beams and steel girder structures, retaining walls and drainage structures. Louis is proficient with MicroStation, ProjectWise and GEOPAK, and is experienced with Axiom and MathCAD.
