Meet Our New Principals and Associates

Freese and Nichols has elected seven new Principals and 22 new Associates. Principals and Associates are leaders of the firm who have made proven contributions in technical expertise, business development and management.

Principals

Jason Afinowicz is the Water Resource Planning Group Manager and Water Resource Practice Leader in our Houston office. He has been with Freese and Nichols for 11 years, with 18 total years of experience. As Practice Leader, Jason has been instrumental in enhancing the practice beyond the cyclical Senate Bill 1 studies to be a sustainable business with increasing backlog. He is considered a technical expert pertaining to water supply planning, water rights permitting and integrated water resource planning (IWRP).

Jimmy Gibson is the Environmental Services Practice Leader in our Fort Worth office. He has been with Freese and Nichols for four years, with 31 total years of experience. He has significant experience in remediation, environmental construction management and Design-Build project delivery. As Practice Leader, Jimmy has helped move Environmental Services at Freese and Nichols to a sponsor-type business with broad service offerings.

Anne Hoskins is a Manager in the Treatment, Transmission and Utilities group in our Austin office. She has 18 years of experience, all with Freese and Nichols. One of the firm’s top project managers for pipelines and utilities, Anne consistently maximizes PM resources. Anne is also a trusted advisor to New Braunfels Utilities, one of our firm’s largest clients.

Charley Mock is our Sales Manager, based in our Fort Worth office. He has been with Freese and Nichols for eight years, with 30 total years of experience. Charley has technical expertise in environmental services and experience with large Design Build and other non-traditional procurement methods. He has leveraged this experience to support Freese and Nichols with complex teaming arrangements and pursuit strategies for large programs.

James Naylor is a manager in the Water/Wastewater Treatment group in our Denton office. He has been with Freese and Nichols for four years, with 22 total years of experience. James provides key technical value in the field of potable water treatment, which fills a gap in capability within Freese and Nichols. He has strong client relationships with Denton, Midlothian, Mansfield and Lubbock and has made significant contributions to other practices and geographies. James also serves as the Water Treatment Senior Technical Professional for the Treatment Practice and is very proactive about updating standards and processes. He has also helped the group diversify their portfolio to result in a better balance of water and wastewater treatment projects.

Stephanie Neises is our Central Texas Water/Wastewater Master Planning Group Manager in our Austin office. She has been with Freese and Nichols for 16 years, with 17 total years of experience. She is a trusted advisor to two strategic clients in the Central Region (SAWS and New Braunfels Utilities). Stephanie is also considered to be the top water modeling expert in Freese and Nichols.

Robin Shermer is our Marketing Director, based in our Fort Worth office. She has been with Freese and Nichols for five years, with 32 total years of experience. While with Freese and Nichols, Robin has made several significant improvements to the marketing group including staff enhancements, streamlined systems and data driven processes.

Ashley Poe is a Stormwater Engineer in Houston, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 10 years.

Brian Bresler is a Coastal Infrastructure Design Engineer in Corpus Christi, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 15 years.

Chris Poteet is a Construction Manager in Dallas, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 15 years.

Christine Jacoby is an Account Director in Fort Worth, and has been with Freese and Nichols for six years.

Coby Gee is a Treatment, Transmission and Utilities Engineer in Austin, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 10 years.

Dawn Warrick is an Urban Planner in Tulsa, and has been with Freese and Nichols for three years.

Emily Smith is a Marketing Strategist in Raleigh, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 12 years.

Eric Engelskirchen is a Transmission and Utilities Engineer in Houston, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 10 years.

Jeff Kirkwood is the Corporate Safety Director in San Antonio, and has been with Freese and Nichols for four years.

John Fishburne is a Water Engineer in Charlotte, and has been with Freese and Nichols for three years.

Kevin Morris is an Engineer in Lubbock, and has been with Freese and Nichols for five years.

Layne Bukhair is a Water Resource Design Engineer in Austin, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 12 years.

Lissa Gregg is a Water Resource Planning Engineer in Fort Worth, and has been with Freese and Nichols for nine years.

Mark Evans is a Funding Specialist in San Marcos, and has been with Freese and Nichols for four years.

Mark Ickert is a Water Resource Design Engineer in Fort Worth, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 14 years.

Misty Thomison is a Structural Engineer in Fort Worth, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 15 years.

Naveen Chillara is a Water Resource Design Engineer in San Antonio, and has been with Freese and Nichols for four years.

Philip Taucer is a Water Resource Planning Engineer in Houston, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 11 years.

Ryan Opgenorth is a Transmission and Utilities Engineer in Fort Worth, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 12 years.

Steven Rhodes is an Infrastructure Management Consulting Engineer in San Antonio, and has been with Freese and Nichols for 15 years.

Tom Cross is an Engineer in Tampa, and has been with Freese and Nichols for two years.

Tony Grubbs is a Water Resource Design Engineer in Raleigh, and has been with Freese and Nichols for four years.
