Michael L. Nichols Client Service Award: Cody Cockroft

Congratulations to Cody Cockroft, Group Manager for Water Resource Design based in Houston, for receiving this year’s Michael L. Nichols Client Service Award.

Cody’s work touches multiple Freese and Nichols services, including Water Resource DesignWater Resource PlanningWater/Wastewater PlanningWater/Wastewater Treatment, Water/Wastewater Transmission & UtilitiesEnvironmentalStormwater and Construction Management.

In addition to his leadership role, he serves as client representative for multiple strategic accounts within the firm, including the Gulf Coast Water Authority, Sabine River Authority and San Jacinto River Authority, and he excels at building trust with clients and providing innovative solutions for some of their biggest challenges. He also has developed lasting relationships with clients across our southern region. His clients actively seek out his technical expertise and institutional knowledge of their projects and their organizations.

Cody regularly receives the highest-level of praise from clients in feedback surveys. By his example and the goals he sets for younger staff, he also teaches the imperative of good client service: responding quickly to emails, returning calls within the same business day and similar prompt actions. He also brings engineers in training to project kickoff meetings to meet clients and establish relationships with younger staff at client organizations to develop long-term partnerships.
