TPWA Central Texas Branch Elects John Nett to Board of Directors
Congratulations to John Nett, Program Manager, Austin, who was recently announced as Vice President for the Board of Directors of the Central Texas Branch of the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association (TPWA).
The American Public Works Association (APWA) provides a forum in which public works professionals can exchange ideas, improve professional competency, increase the performance of their agencies and companies, and bring important public works-related topics to public attention in local, state and federal arenas. The Texas Chapter (made up of nine Branches) is the largest APWA Chapter with over 1500 members. Some important annual initiatives include the Vibrant Scholarship Program, Professional Recognition Program, Texas Annual Public Workshop and Leadership Development. The Central Texas Branch has 181 members and is centered around Austin/Waco.
In his role as Vice President, John will support general membership meetings of the Branch; local and state-level training and conferences; and scholarship fundraising events. He will also be involved in developing new programming related to technical education and member development.
