Scott Cole, Eric Potts Represent Freese and Nichols at Missouri S&T
Congratulations to Scott Cole, Assistant Division Manager, on becoming a member of the Missouri University of Science and Technology Academy of Civil Engineers, which recognizes outstanding alumni who contribute to the profession, leadership and involvement. Scott was formally inducted into the Academy on April 7, along with 11 other members, during an induction ceremony, in Rolla, Missouri.
Scott is a third-generation alumnus of Missouri S&T, formerly known as the University of Missouri–Rolla. His nomination was sponsored by Account Director Eric Potts, who has been a member of the Academy since 1999.
Eric also made an appearance at his alma mater on April 6 to speak about diversity, equity and inclusion. Eric shared some approaches to help organizations build unanimous outcomes for equal opportunities. His experience and knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion in the professional world comes from serving on the Transportation Research Board (TRB) DEI Task Force and being appointed to a national DEI committee within the airport and aviation industry. Eric also has been instrumental in mentoring, helping develop and sustaining Freese and Nichols’ partnerships with small and disadvantaged business firms through our mentor-protégé program.
Brian Coltharp, President and CEO, also attended and did some networking with Missouri S&T personnel, such as the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department‘s Curator’s Professor, Dr. Joel G. Burken PhD, PE, BCEE, and Chancellor Mohammad Dehghani.
